Level 3 is the production system level. You are no longer learning the Minimoog — you are deploying it. Twelve sessions covering full Eurorack integration, advanced MIDI CC and CV automation, multi-instrument hybrid stack design, frequency slotting in a full mix, systematic patch development methodology, performance recording protocol, synthesis theory applied to mix placement, and a distribution-ready capstone track with the Minimoog as its core instrument.

What You Will Cover

The Minimoog as the analog anchor of a professional hybrid production system.

Twelve sessions cover: Eurorack CV/Gate routing in both directions (Minimoog as controller and as module in a Eurorack system, Eurorack audio through the Moog Ladder Filter); MIDI CC and CV automation with performed versus drawn automation comparison; three-layer hybrid stack design with frequency allocation framework; source-level mix decisions using the Minimoog filter as hardware EQ; complex FM and feedback stack patches; live take versus composite editing protocol; spectrum analysis applied to patch design and mix placement; systematic patch development methodology (brief, architecture, build, isolate, test, document); the complete MWHQ hybrid session template; production efficiency benchmarks; and a distribution-ready capstone track.

The Level 3 capstone deliverable: a complete mixed track ready for distribution at −14 LUFS, with all session files, patches, and production documentation archived to MWHQ standards.

The Production System Perspective

The Minimoog as a component, not just an instrument.

At the Professional level, the Minimoog is not the thing you are working on — it is one component of a larger production system that includes a DAW, software synthesizers, and potentially Eurorack or other hardware. Level 3 teaches the integration: how the Minimoog's frequency content slots into a mix, how its CV outputs control other instruments, how its signal path is layered with complementary digital sources, and how a complete production session runs from setup to distribution master in a defined time budget.

The systematic patch development method introduced in Session 8 — brief, architecture, build, isolate, test, document — is the methodology that replaces intuitive tweaking with professional-velocity sound design. It is the single most transferable skill in the Level 3 curriculum.

Session 1

Eurorack Integration — CV/Gate routing in both directions, Eurorack audio through the Moog Ladder Filter, integration documentation protocol.

Session 2

Advanced MIDI CC and CV Automation — CC1 automation curves, CV interface routing, performed versus drawn automation comparison.

Session 3

Multi-Instrument Stack Design — three-layer frequency allocation, phase cancellation detection, stack documentation as reusable template.

Session 4

The Minimoog as Anchor — frequency conflict analysis, source-level filter adjustments for mix density, filter automation for mix space.

Session 5

Advanced Patch Programming — FM distortion bass, metallic click-attack tone, harmonic texture patch. Complex FM and feedback stacks.

Session 6

Performance Recording — three live takes, composite editing, crossfade standards, and the three scenarios where live takes are preferred.

Session 7

Synthesis Theory Applied — spectrum analysis of five patches, harmonic structure predictions, Emphasis as presence frequency tool.

Session 8

Systematic Patch Development — the six-step methodology: brief, architecture, build, isolate, mix test, document. Timed development session.

Session 9

The MWHQ Hybrid Stack — complete session template, frequency allocation map, reference bounce protocol, reusable production infrastructure.

Session 10

Mastering the Minimoog Context — pre-session mix assessment, three source-level adjustments, before-and-after comparisons.

Session 11

Production Efficiency — timed four-hour MWHQ session benchmark, overhead identification, velocity improvement protocol.

Session 12

Capstone — distribution-ready track at −14 LUFS with full session archive, patch documentation, and production retrospective.
