freebeat: AI Music Video Foundations

Level 1 takes you from a sign-up screen to a published music video you own outright and can defend if anybody asks where it came from. Twelve sessions cover what 500 free credits actually buy and the four limits that apply simultaneously, the music-first inversion that makes this a different category of tool, all six music input routes and the one that carries no rights question at all, the five video modes and their wildly different costs, one-click generation as a diagnostic rather than a finishing move, the shot plan editor that is free to use and is the biggest lever on your monthly bill, the Character Bible that locks a person across six minutes, model selection as the largest variable in your spend, finishing without bleeding credits, five native export ratios plus the Spotify Canvas loop almost every artist leaves empty, the rights boundary the interface never draws, and a complete brief-to-published pass. By Session 12 you can take a brief and deliver against it without guessing and without exposure.

Four Limits, Not One

Session 1 addresses the free tier properly. Students routinely discover its constraints one at a time in the worst possible order: a thirty-second output cap, a watermark on every mode, restricted resolution behind a 12-to-45-minute peak queue, and — the one that actually matters — personal use only. The watermark is not the constraint. The licence is.

Editing the Plan Is Free

Session 6 teaches the single most valuable habit on a metered platform. Correcting the AI Director's shot plan before generating costs nothing; the identical correction made afterwards is a per-clip regeneration charge, several times over if it affects several shots. Four questions, two minutes, and they routinely save more credits than any other practice in the level.

You Own the Video, Not the Track

Session 11 covers the boundary the interface never draws. On a paid plan you own the copyright in every video you generate — a genuinely favourable position. That grant says nothing whatsoever about the music you supplied, and if you paste a link to a track you do not own, the compliance problem is yours by contract and increasingly by statute.

What You'll Cover

Every control. Every credit. Every session with a deliverable.

The 12 sessions run in deliberate sequence: the free tier and what to spend it discovering; the category question and the music-first inversion; six input routes and their rights implications; the five video modes and their costs; one-click generation and the three-point audit; the shot plan editor as the cheapest control on the platform; building a Character Bible that prevents drift; model selection and the draft-cheap finish-premium sequence; the two-pass review and three-category sort for finishing; five native ratios plus the Canvas loop; the rights boundary and provenance discipline; and a full brief-to-published pass.

Every session ends with an objective completion standard you can test without an instructor present. Students leave with a published video, a saved Character Bible, a written model cost table, a provenance record for everything they have made, and the ability to state exactly what a finished video cost them.

Where This Level Fits

Level 1 teaches you to deliver. Level 2 makes it a costed system.

Level 1 establishes deliberate generation, structural control, credit awareness and rights literacy. You leave able to take a track and a brief and deliver a published video across every format you need — which is the prerequisite for Level 2's cost modelling, brief templates, locked visual identity, six-stage pipeline and six-asset release stack.

This level is right for independent artists, AI music producers working in Suno or Udio, social content creators, DJs and instrumental artists, and small labels handling visual content for a roster. It is not right for anyone who needs documentary footage, real people who are not their avatar, or shot-by-shot art direction — and this curriculum says so in Session 2 rather than letting you find out in week four.

Next Step

Generation takes five minutes. Everything else is the craft.

On this platform every creative control is also a spending control. Producers with ordinary taste build strong catalogues here because they plan before they generate, draft on cheap models and finish on expensive ones, and know what a finished video costs. Better visual thinkers run out of credits in week three and conclude the tool is limited. It is not limited — it is metered, and the meter rewards production management over prompting. Every session ends with a deliverable, and the final session ends with a published video you can account for completely.
