Academy / Beatoven.ai Ladder / Level 3

Beatoven.ai: Professional AI Music Production

Level 3 contains almost no new technique, and that is deliberate. Twelve sessions cover what Fairly Trained certification actually certifies and where its limits are, reading the licence properly, the streaming prohibition and the business models it blocks, the Content ID registration ban and the dispute path, the indemnification clause that runs from you to the vendor, client work where provenance is the deliverable, pricing the clearance rather than the track, the API as product architecture, minutes economics at scale, teaching the durable framework, honest ROI, and the industry's longer settlement.

Certification Is Not Indemnification

Session 5 reads the clause most producers never open. Beatoven's terms contain a standard indemnity running from you to the vendor — entirely normal, and the reason "fully cleared and indemnified" is a sentence that can cost you a client relationship. Students audit their own contracts for warranty language the upstream licence does not support.

Price the Risk You Remove

Session 7 reframes what a provenance-sensitive client is actually buying. Price by the cue and you compete against free. Price the outcome — cleared, documented, defensible, delivered — and the margin structure works. Never itemise the licence pack; never disclose your generation cost.

Who Should Not Buy This

Session 11 names six profiles who should walk away: anyone needing vocals, anyone releasing to streaming, hip-hop and electronic work where character matters, anyone wanting DAW-level control, composers whose value is their own voice, and anyone generating two tracks a year. A curriculum that will not say this is an advertisement.

What You'll Cover

Licensing, liability, positioning, pricing and scale.

The 12 sessions run in deliberate sequence: the provenance argument and its three limits; reading the licence and archiving dated copies; the streaming prohibition and the volume-distribution model it blocks; Content ID registration versus dispute support, with a five-step claim procedure; the indemnification clause and a contract audit; identifying and packaging for provenance-sensitive clients; three pricing structures and four practices that destroy margin; the API and four decisions to settle before building; minutes economics and the reuse effect; teaching the durable framework rather than the disposable interface; honest ROI; and attribution as the industry's settlement.

The capstone is a complete provenance-grade engagement: a one-page provenance statement making no indemnification claim, a full licence pack, a documented routing note, an outcome-based pricing structure, and an audit of your own contract's warranty language.

Where This Level Fits

The documentation practice is the asset, not the subscription.

The competence taught here used to belong to music supervisors and clearance people at broadcasters. Generative audio pushed it down to everyone who places a track under a voice, and almost nobody has caught up. That gap is wide and will stay wide for years.

Nothing in this level is platform-specific in the way Levels 1 and 2 are. The folder structure, the certificates, the register, the dated terms copies and the routing note transfer to every tool you use for the rest of your career — which is exactly why they are taught last and taught hardest.

Next Step

"I can tell you exactly where every second of this audio came from, and I can put it in writing."

That sentence reframes an entire client conversation. You stop being a supplier of background music and become the person who removes a risk the client was already worried about — and procurement people visibly relax when they hear it. It only works if it is true, and if the discipline is behind it. Level 3 builds the discipline, the documentation, and the exact language that makes the claim defensible.
