Academy / Beatoven.ai Ladder / Level 1

Beatoven.ai: AI Music Foundations

Level 1 takes you from an empty account to a licensed, documented cue placed in real content. Twelve sessions cover what Beatoven actually is and why the provenance question became commercial, a complete interface tour, choosing between the Composer and Maestro engines, the three-element prompt formula, the honest genre map, auditioning against four criteria, the fifteen-minute duration advantage, the track editor, mood segments and emotional arcs, Recompose section repair, export and the licence certificate, and a full first delivery. By Session 12 you can be handed a brief and prove you were entitled to deliver against it.

The Free Tier Downloads Nothing

Session 2 marks the line that catches more new users than anything else on this platform: you can generate and preview at zero cost, but no download means no usage rights of any kind — not commercial, and not personal either. Students learn where that line sits before they spend a day on the wrong side of it.

The Three-Element Formula

Mood, genre or instrumentation, tempo — plus the stated job. Session 4 drills the formula against real briefs and establishes the prompt library discipline that turns prompting from writing into engineering, and takes students from six generations per usable cue down to one or two.

Repair Instead of Re-Roll

Session 10 teaches Recompose — regenerating one flawed section while holding the rest of the arrangement intact. It is the mechanic that converts this platform from a slot machine into an instrument, it costs nothing because editing is free, and almost nobody finds it on their own.

What You'll Cover

Every control. Every economic decision. Every session with a deliverable.

The 12 sessions run in deliberate sequence: what Beatoven is and what it deliberately is not; a full interface tour marking which operations are free and which spend allowance; Composer versus Maestro; the three-element prompt formula; genre and mood tags with an honest capability map; auditioning variations against four listening criteria; duration and the fifteen-minute advantage; first contact with the track editor; mood segments and emotional arcs; Recompose; export, stems and the licence certificate; and a complete first delivery.

Every session ends with an objective completion standard you can test without an instructor present. Students leave with a placed and licensed cue, a working prompt library, their own genre capability map, a reuse register, and a folder discipline that still works at track three hundred.

Where This Level Fits

Level 1 teaches you to deliver a cue. Level 2 teaches you to run a system.

Level 1 establishes reliable generation, structural editing, export capability and documentation discipline. You leave able to take a brief with a duration and an emotional shape and deliver against it — which is the prerequisite for Level 2's scoring-to-picture work, stem mixing, voiceover masking and cue library construction.

This level is right for content producers, podcast and video editors, agency people, game developers and working musicians who need underscore they can defend. It is not right for anyone whose work is song-based or vocal-led — Beatoven generates no vocals at all, and this curriculum says so in Session 1 rather than Session 11.

Next Step

Editing is free. Downloading is what you pay for.

That single asymmetry governs every efficient workflow on this platform, and most users never notice it. They generate, download, listen, regenerate and download again — paying twice or three times for one cue. Level 1 teaches the opposite order: generate, edit, edit, edit, export once, file the certificate. Every session ends with a deliverable, and the final session ends with published content you can account for.
